Quick steps to get started
Goal: score more points than your opponent by building words on the board. The game ends when the bag is empty and one player uses up their rack; the highest score wins.
Mouse or touch - everything is drag and tap, no keyboard required:
- Drag a tile from your rack onto the board to place it; drag it again to move it
- Undo lifts the last tile, Undo-all takes the whole turn back
- Play commits your word and scores it
- Pass gives up the turn; Exchange swaps chosen tiles back into the bag
- Shuffle re-orders your rack, Hint suggests a move
Words must connect to what is already on the board, and every word you form is checked against the dictionary of the chosen language. Premium squares multiply a letter or the whole word, and using all your tiles in one turn earns a bonus.
What's it all about?
LetterHold is a word-building board game: draw letters, spell them across a 15x15 board, and take the premium squares before your opponent does. Every tile you drag shows what the word is worth before you commit it, so a turn is a decision and not a guess - swap a letter for a bigger one, stretch a word through a triple, or hook onto what is already on the board and score both words at once. Blanks can stand for any letter, and a hint will find you a move when you run dry. Play it however you like: solo against the bot on easy, medium or hard; pass-and-play on one screen for two to four seats; online with a friend by invite or room code, or a quick match with a stranger. You can also watch a live room instead of playing. Three letter sets and three languages - English, Ukrainian and Polish - each with its own tile distribution and its own word list, checked on the spot.
